To describe the style of her works, Rabea Janek Peter created the concept Cipherism. With that she refers to the rhetorical figure of the cipher from expressionist literature. It functions like a symbol, but however, differently than this, it has no comprehensible meaning grown over time (as for example rose = love) but recieves its content purely from the emotional world of the artist.
